Ms Emma Porter

Clinical Midwifery Consultant

Emma Porter completed her a Bachelor of Nursing in 2009 through CQ University, in 2011 she was awarded a scholarship to excel her studies in completing a post graduate Diploma in Midwifery through James Cook University.  In more recent years Emma obtained accreditation in a Diploma of Counselling (2019), a certification that is utilised daily in her current practice. Emma currently holds the position of Clinical Midwifery Consultant leading the Perinatal Loss team at the Mater Mothers Hospital in South Brisbane. She started with the Stillbirth CRE in 2023 and is contributing her professional knowledge to several bereavement care team projects including updates to the IMPROVE program. She sets a high standard of excellence for herself in the area of bereavement care delivery.  Advocating for best practice and identifying the individual needs for parents and families experiencing the loss of a baby.
