Involvement in Research

The voices of parents are so important to inform research on preventing stillbirth and improving care for families who experience this loss.

The Centre of Research Excellence in Stillbirth (Stillbirth CRE) is involved in a wide range of research projects. Parents can become involved in many ways.

Bereaved parents are invited to be involved in the Stillbirth CRE program. Some of the ways parents can be involved include:

  • Providing input to our committees and helping to make decisions about the most important research questions to address.
  • Identifying the kinds of support that parents and families need following stillbirth or neonatal death.
  • Helping to understand the care that parents need in a subsequent pregnancy following stillbirth or neonatal death.

If you would like to make a time to talk to one of our researchers, please email stillbirthcre@mater.uq.edu.au.

"It was the knowledge of how important research is that made me want to help.
I hope that my experience can do that in some way."

By donating to the Centre of Research Excellence in Stillbirth through our partner organisation, Stillbirth Foundation Australia, you will help support the efforts to reduce stillbirth rates as well as provide support for bereaved families.

Stillbirth Foundation Australia is recognised nationally as a leading voice on stillbirth and represents the voices of thousands of Australian families who have been touched by stillbirth.
