Monitoring fetal movements during pregnancy has been demonstrated in other settings to reduce the incidence of stillbirth. The My Babys Movements (MBM) randomised controlled trial is assessing the impact of a mobile phone app that aids mothers monitor their babys movement in pregnancy. The economic evaluation of the MBM trial will assess the cost-effectiveness of this intervention – to identify the health outcomes it produces, and what it costs to produce them. This will provide decision-makers with the information they need to determine whether the mobile phone app will become a part of routine antenatal care.
