Dr Rupesh Gautam

Rupesh Gautam (MScPH, PhD) is a public health researcher with particular interests in perinatal health, non-communicable diseases, and ageing & public health within the broader domain of social determinants of health. As an early career researcher, he is interested in further building his skillset in implementation science, program monitoring, and evaluation. His tools of practice include project management, quantitative and qualitative evidence synthesis, and research reporting.

Rupesh joined the Stillbirth Centre of Research Excellence (Stillbirth CRE) in November 2020 working on COCOON Collaboration, a multi-country study to understand the challenges and concerns regarding pregnancy during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is currently involved in several projects at Stillbirth CRE under the prevention arm of the equity and diversity stream. His current role at the CRE as a research associate involves project management and coordination of several Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander as well as migrant & refugee focused projects.

He is currently a review editor for the area of aging and public health with the ‘Frontiers in Public Health’ journal and occasionally reviews manuscripts for other academic journals in the broader area of public health and global health.
