Safer Baby Bundle eLearning course NEW (updated August 2024)
The Safer Baby Bundle module provides evidence based information for maternity health care providers on the 5 elements of the bundle: Smoking Cessation, Fetal Growth Restriction (FGR), Decreased Fetal Movements (DFM), Side Sleeping and Timing of Birth. This eLearning course has been updated in August 2024 to align with most recent evidence and updated resources.
IMPROVE eLearning course
This course consists of six modules and is designs to support maternity healthcare professionals in responding to women who have experience stillbirth, and gain crucial learnings. Each module takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and provide essential training for obstetricians, neonatologists, midwives, nurses, general practitioners and antennal staff.

On completion of this eLearning course, health professionals should be able to recognise and understand the disparity in Indigenous stillbirth rates compared to non-Indigenous stillbirth rates, have a better understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women’s health, and recognise the importance of culturally safe care in health to improve care and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and communities.
Partnering with families of refugee & migrant backgrounds
This course builds upon the established Safer Baby Bundle learning course to provide additional support to health professionals working with women and families of refugee and migrant backgrounds during pregnancy. Modules include practical guidance on how families would like to have conversations about stillbirth prevention, skills for working well with interpreters, and opportunities to strengthen culturally safe and trauma responsive approaches to pregnancy care. The course includes a total of 5 self-paced learning modules, each taking approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.
Safer Baby Bundle: professional development for interpreters
This training package is designed to support interpreters working in diverse pregnancy care settings across Australia. Modules include information about the design and delivery of maternity care in Australia, common tests and investigations offered during pregnancy, approaches to stillbirth prevention, and interpreter wellbeing and self-care. The package includes a total of 6 self-paced learning modules, each taking approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.
