Ms Melissa Malivoire

Senior Research Assistant

Melissa is a Senior Research Assistant and Parent Engagement Coordinator at the Stillbirth Centre of Research Excellence (CRE). Currently completing a Bachelor of Behavioural Science at The University of Queensland, with expected completion in July 2025, Melissa brings a unique blend of academic pursuit and profound lived experience to the team. As a bereaved parent, following the passing of her son Leo in October 2022, Melissa is deeply committed to supporting research that enhances the quality of care for bereaved families.

In her role, Melissa is responsible for facilitating research connections between bereaved parents and researchers and moderating the Bereaved Parent Advocacy Committee (BPAC). Melissa is a co-investigator on Project Engage, focusing on co-designing a sustainable framework to enhance stillbirth research quality and translation. This work builds upon the successful development of the Getting Involved in Stillbirth Research; A guide for bereaved parents and the establishment of the Stillbirth CRE Parent Research Involvement Registry.
