Ms Cheryl Bailey

PhD Candidate

Cheryl Bailey is a clinical midwife currently undertaking her PhD with the University of Queensland and the Stillbirth Centre of Research Excellence. Cheryl completed her midwifery training in the United Kingdom and has worked at the Mater Mothers Hospital in Brisbane followed by the Gold Coast University Hospital since arriving in Australia in 2009.  

Cheryl enjoys research and her goal is to improve health outcomes of women and babies. After contributing to the Safer Baby Bundle (SBB) smoking cessation working party, Cheryl knew further research into this area was needed. Her PhD thesis involves investigating the smoking cessation referral pathway to identify ways that uptake of smoking cessation support could be improved.
